3 - Define Your Must-Haves 

List your priorities (location, size, features, etc.) and begin touring homes. Your realtor will help schedule showings, provide market comparisons, and refine your search.

4 - Make an Offer & Negotiate

Once you find the right home, your realtor will help you draft an offer. This includes price, contingencies (inspection, financing, etc.), and closing terms. Be prepared for negotiations.

5 - Sign a Purchase Agreement

After the offer is accepted, both parties sign a contract outlining the sale details, including deadlines for inspections, financing approval, and closing.

6 - Schedule a Home Inspection

  • Hire a professional inspector to evaluate the property’s condition. If major issues arise, you can renegotiate, request repairs, or walk away if the contract allows.

7 - Secure Financing & Appraisal

Your lender will finalize your mortgage, and an appraiser will assess the property’s value to ensure it aligns with the loan amount.

8 - Conduct a Final Walkthrough

A few days before closing, visit the property to ensure any agreed-upon repairs were completed and that the home is in the expected condition.

9 - Closing Day

At the closing appointment, review and sign legal documents, pay closing costs, and finalize the mortgage. Your realtor and attorney (if required) will ensure everything is in order.

10 - Get the Keys & Move In!

Once the transaction is officially recorded, the home is yours! You’ll receive the keys and can start moving into your new property.
